The first step in developing a blog is to do your marketing research. If you do not know how to conduct a market research read my article “ Become An Expert At Marketing Your Business” post. You will get some good tips on how to conduct a market research for your business and blog.

Once you know your target market and how you want to reach them with your blog, the next step is to own a website under your name.com. Most companies do not want their distributors to use their company’s name unless approved by the company. To protect yourself, I commend to purchase a domain under your name for your blog. Another good reason for owning a website with your domain name is build your credibility. When your customers or potential team members research your name on line by they can go right to your blog.

I recommend the company I use to purchase my domain name and host my website. They only charge $6.95 per month and you get a free domain name (e.g www.christianeguignard.com). Most of all, they give you unlimited hosting space which means you can create as many websites you want and without any hidden fees. (Note you have to pay your full year hosting when you sign up.) Prior to using Bluehost, I was using a webhosting company that charged me close to $20 dollars per month for two websites and additional monthly fee for changes I’ve made to those websites. So, far I have four websites hosted with Bluehost and all I’ve paid is $6.95 a month. Click on the picture bellow to check if your domain name is available.

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Christiane Guignard. I am a wife, a mother and a business owner. Prior to starting my business I worked full-time as an account executive for a publishing company in New York. After years of working in corporate America, I realized that I had no time and no money.  In fact, the more money I made the more debt I accumulated. I became frustrated realizing I was not spending enough time with my family. I knew I needed a change.

My favorite phrase has always been, “if you are doing the same thing and your unsatisfied with your result than you need to change your strategy.”  So I’ve decided to take my own advice and take control of my finances.

I did not quit my full time job when I first began my business. In fact, my business model allowed me to work around my busy schedule.  I have found that busy people make the best business leaders because they are surrounded by other professionals and they know how to manage their time to get the task done.  I also knew that one of the major reasons most business start-ups fail within the first five years is because of lack of funds and poor business planning and I was not going to let that happened to my business.

The two keys to my success:

The first key to my success, I’ve created a business model that incorporated different products that complement each other.

The second key I’ve interested time in getting training from the top business coach in the industry.

I have been in my business long enough to know, a home-base business is not for everyone and success in business is not a given.  There are many people that enter the direct selling industry and last 30 to 90 days.  Others leave after a year.  They were looking for the same opportunity as I have found.  They had the desire to work at home, live a debt free life, spend more time with family, but what they did not realized that they needed to do the leg work, to invest in their business, to invest in training in order to run their business professionally.

My home base business model adapted with the changes in my life. Six months after being in business my husband was laid-off and a year latter I was laid off; however, I was not afraid because my business model was our plan B. In this time and age where people are being laid-off and businesses are closing from left to right, I decided to take control of my finances. It has now been two years since I’ve left corporate America and I am very grateful for my business model and my business leaders. They have helped me to build a business that allows me to do the things I dreamed of. While working at home I am attending college to obtain an education degree. I am spending more time with my husband Jeff, daughter Heather and have made some great friends while getting out of debt. If it was not for my business model and my coach, I don’t know what I would do.
